Our November edition comes out on 17/11/17, two days after the broadcast of the first episode of Season 4 of Peaky Blinders on BBC2.

Having been granted exclusive access to the production team, cast and creators, The Chap is proud to have Paul Anderson, who plays Arthur Shelby in the series, on the front cover, as well as in a six-page interview inside.

We also spent some time with Stephen Knight, who wrote and devised Peaky Blinders, to find out how he came up with the idea while chatting to his relatives in Birmingham. We also met Loz Schiavo, hair and make-up stylist on the series, who revealed the secret behind the classic Peaky Blinder haircut. She also divulged various details about Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy’s tattoos – both their real ones and the ones created for the series.

Not content with all this, we did our own Peaky Blinders photo shoot, using some of the clothing supplied to the series; we also delved into the murky history of Small Heath in Birmingham to tell the story of the real 1920s street gangs, one of which was indeed called the Peaky Blinders.

Other content is just as voluminous: we did a photoshoot on Lambeth Walk with stylish local tailors Earl of Bedlam; our new architecture section looks at the house used in the film of Sunset Boulevard; our American correspondent reveals the most stylish 1930s cinematic gangsters; our Chap centrefold is the charming Goldy Loxx in Tiki chic; we have a new sartorial advice section hosted by none other than newly retired cricket commentating legend Henry ‘Blowers’ Blofeld; our investigation into youth tribes takes a trip to Tokyo to meet rockabilly rebels Kaminari Zoku (Thunder Tribe); Olly Smith recommends suitable French fizz for the festive season; we hear about the eccentric political ideals of John Ruskin; and finally, meet the costume designer on Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express – as well as an interview with his absurd moustache.

The Chap, Winter 2017 edition, price £5.99. Order your copy here or subscribe
