The Chap Olympiad isn’t all about doing weird sports that don’t make any sense and are almost impossible to win. In fact it’s hardly about sport at all, its main purpose being an almighty all-day fashion parade in a private square in Bloomsbury. The dandified, the eccentric, the retro, the military enthusiast, the glamorous, the tweedy and sometimes even the seedy, all converge on Bedford Square Gardens once a year to parade their finest costumes. On Saturday 14th July, The Chap Olympiad welcomes 1500 eccentric chaps and dapper debutantes to Bedford Square Gardens in central London, for a completely unique day of sartorial elegance and sporting mayhem. The purpose of the Chap Olympiad is for chaps and Chapettes to try and beat each other at games such as Umbrella Jousting, Tea Pursuit and Riding Crop Rumpus, but sporting prowess is not something these dissolute dandies value very highly.
