Tom HardyIn the latest edition of The Chap, we speak to various members of the cast and crew on Peaky Blinders, including the hair and make-up stylist, Loz Schiavo, who reveals how she came up with the iconic Peaky Blinder haircut.

She also speaks about the very different approach she took to styling the actor Tom Hardy for his role as Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons.

It is well-known that Mr. Hardy is heavily tattooed in real life, and Ms Schiavo explains how, after the task of applying fake tattoos to Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, a much greater challenge was covering up Tom Hardy’s tattoos and adding new ones to complement his character. She also tells how enthusiastic Mr. Hardy was in the application of make-up to show his character’s various illnesses, and how together they came up with what we see on the screen.
