Description
Spats – short for ‘Spatterdashes’ were worn by nearly all men in the 1920s, mainly to keep mud from splashing on to one’s footwear when stepping over puddles into carriages, but also because they look rather dashing and even, today, have a whiff of the bounder about them. This original 1920s pair is in remarkable condition for is age, with all eight of the original mother-of-pearl buttons present and correct. These spats fit a shoe size 9.
