His long friendship with the Duchess of Devonshire (‘Debo’), youngest of the six Mitford sisters, began in 1956 at Lismore Castle, the Devonshire family home in Ireland. This visit sparked a long series of letters between Debo and Paddy, covering everything from President Kennedy’s inauguration, filming with Errol Flynn and life at Chatsworth and in the Mani region of southern Greece, where Debo often visited Paddy. This edition is in very good condition.
