Description
This curious pair of cufflinks at first sight resembles a rather fine example of European engineering, but on closer inspection they are embossed with the word ‘Japan’ on the rear. This explains the exquisite workmanship, while the subject suggests they were made in Japan to commemorate the coronation of Elizabeth II in the 1950s. The black enamel is set into 24-carat gold plating on steel.
