Description
Celebrated novelist Rose Macaulay penned many letters to Father Hamilton Johnson, an Anglican priest and her cousin, during the years 1952-1958. This collection is of the last letters she wrote to him, and are seen as a highly valuable insight into the mind of “one of the most remarkable Englishwomen of this century”. Few realised during Macaulay’s lifetime that this grande dame of English letters also had a profoundly human and spiritual side, all of which comes through in the letters. This is a first edition in very good condition.
