Description
In the Spring of 1626, King Charles I and his young bride Henrietta Maria are guests of honour at a splendid banquet held by George Villiers, Earl of Buckingham. At the climax of the feast, a large pie is set down before the Queen, who is given a knife and invited to cut into it. Before she begins, the crust begins to crack and there emerges a tiny man, perfectly proportioned and dressed in a suit of armour. This little man is Jeffrey Hudson, seven years old and 18 inches tall. Lord Minimus is the first proper biography of Hudson, telling how the smallest man in England came from a humble rural background and rose to the courts of kings and queens. This hardback first edition was published in 2001 by HarperCollins and is in good condition.
