Description
“When to the sessions of sweet silent thought/I summon up remembrance of things past.” For some readers, even the quote from which the English title of Marcel Proust’s eight-volume masterpiece is taken enough to make them reach for a cheap paperback with fewer pages. But for those who wish to make a dent in the magnum opus, Swann’s Way Vol.I, the first volume of the first tale, is a very good start, and a highly enjoyable read in itself, should the reader feel daunted by the remaining seven volumes. This is the illustrated edition of the first English translation, published in 1957, and is in good condition.
