Description
Historian Arthur Bryant’s 1950 conclusion of his ten-year saga about the Napoleonic Wars and their aftermath, opening in 1812 with Bonaparte marching into Russia and Wellington close behind him, making inroads into Spain. The Age of Elegance describes in great detail the superb campaigns that brought the dictator to his knees, the action then moving to Vienna and the battlefield of Waterloo. The second part of this book sees Bryant surveying the England that has emerged after so many years of struggle and development, and how the revolution which the English had mastered in battle nearly overwhelmed them in peace. This second edition was published in 1950 by Collins and is in good condition.
