Description
Napoleon called the 1807-1814 war on the Iberian peninsula “a Spanish ulcer”, allowing the war to hasten his downfall by draining resources and manpower. But at least the uniforms were splendid creations, with 150 of them illustrated in this book published in 1978 by Blandford Press. As well as the main protagonists in the war, the French and British armies, the Spanish and Portuguese troops’ uniforms are given equal coverage, along with German, Italian, Swiss and Irish troops, who fought on both sides of the conflict, as well as the uniforms of the Confederation of the Rhine and the Duchy of Warsaw. This hardback edition is in good condition.
