Victorian Torpedo Cufflinks

£25.00

The ‘Torpedo’ cufflinks fastening became well-used in the 1920s and 30s, but it originates as far back as the Victorian era, and this is a fine example. The cufflinks themselves are a simple decorated oval, with a chain fastening to the impressively weighty torpedoes, presumably to reassure the nervous Victorian gentleman that he would never face the social ostracisation resulting from cufflink malfunction.
