Description
The 1979 Folio Society edition of Saki’s short stories, with illustrations by Osbert Lancaster. P.G. Wodehouse meets Arthur Machen might be one way to describe the curious tales of Hector Hugh Monro, AKA Saki, who brought a thread of mysticism to his drawing room tales, his unusual nom-de-plume having been gleaned from a stanza in Edward Fitzgerald’s translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Kayam. This edition, apart from a minor tea stain on the front cover only, is in very good condition.
