Description
This Cambridge canvas boating cap would today be called a ‘baseball cap’, but let us not dwell on this. Probably from the 1920s or 30s, the vintage cap was repurposed in 1974 for a soccer match at Wembley Stadium, known then as Empire Stadium, its owner adding a home made rosette wishing their team good luck. We shall never know whether they were attending a varsity or a league game, but it’s a nice bit of historical detail that can easily be discarded, should the new owner wish to wear his or her Cambridge Blue boating cap in its original glory.
