The Special Anniversary Silver Jubilee edition celebrated 25 years of publication, and naturally there was no-one better to grace its cover than David Niven. Silver foxes and silver vixens featured heavily in this issue, from the svelte Lindsay Duncan to the buxom Diana Dors and the elegant Helen Mirren, while silver foxes include Rex Harrison, Cary Grant and Nigel Patrick. Andrew Scott and Clive Owen kept up the non-silver cast, with a look at the new production of The Talented Mr Ripley on the non-silver screen. Larger screens visited include the Scala Cinema, with an interview with the co-directors of a new film about the legendary all-nighters there. Royal cocktails, from Dubonnet & Lemon to the late Queen Elizabeth’s dry martinis, feature in the drinks section. Sartorial features include Mr Fish, Carnaby Street shirtmaker, Society of Salome at Leighton House, Torquil Arbuthnot’s Brief History of The Chap, and a look at the last decade of David Bowie by his biographer Alexander Larman.
