Description
CHAP Winter 23 was the one where we finally sat down for a good old natter with Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer, who discussed three-piece suits and plimsolls, touring with Sparks and bearing the dubious distinction of being on Michael Gove’s playlist. We also met erstwhile Chief Druid Philip Carr-Gomm, travelled to Rome, encountered tailor Edward Sexton, descended into the lost city of Damanhur, met motorists on the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive and the London to Brighton veteran car run, witnessed the restoration of an Edwardian top hat at Lock & Co, reviewed an exhibition of the paintings of John Craxton, revisited the infamous Colony Room and learned why Norman Wisdom was a true vaudeville performer.
