Description
The author of this biography of world-weary avuncular actor John Le Mesurier needs no greater qualification than having penned the biography of Terry-Thomas. Opening with Le Mez’s famous self-penned obituary in The Times in 1983, “John Le Mesurier wishes it to be known that he conked out on November 15th. He sadly misses family and friends”, McCann goes on to flesh out the curious life of this much-loved actor, his glimpses of happiness, his love of cricket and the complications of his amours with Hattie Jaques and Joan Le Mesurier, neither of whom treated him particularly well. This paperback edition was published in 2012 by Autumn Press and is in good condition.
