Description
Despite being born in 1915 and a star of the fifties and sixties, it was surprising that Norman Wisdom didn’t get around to writing his autobiography until 1992. Perhaps because the tales of his childhood were too harrowing to recall – born to a chauffeur father and dressmaker mother, Wisdom had to steal food to survive as a child and spent time sleeping rough, until joining the army aged fourteen. He went on to work with Jerry Lewis, Edward G Robinson and Joan Crawford and in 1956 was declared Britain’s highest-earning comedian. This hardback first edition is in very good condition.
