Description
Originally published in 1916, penned by son of the Archbishop of Canterbury Edward Frederic Benson, Freaks of Mayfair is a satirical portrait of some of the odder characters to be spotted around Mayfair in the early 20th century, from ‘Aunt’ Georgie, a happy bachelor with a passion for embroidery, to Mrs Weston, a devotee of every new health cult and spiritual fad, to Horace Campbell, society gossip, and the ‘grizzly kittens’, Babs Begum and Charlie Gordon, who refuse to grow old gracefully. This is the Prion Books hardback reissue from 2003 and is in mint condition.
