Description
The original knitting pattern that launched the entire canon of The Chap. Only one copy of this was ever found, in a second hand shop in the late 1990s. The manner and mien of the model, coupled with his insouciant cravat over yellow cable knit sweater, not to mention the jaunty angle of his pipe and his Brylcreemed hair, was the inspiration for the founding of the gentlemen’s publication that would last for 25 years. The knitting pattern was used on the covers of both the first printing (100 copies) and the second printing (1,000 copies). This is a one-off piece of publishing history for a serious collector.
