Description
Long before the Chap – in 1966, to be precise – there was this amusing tome, which sought to answer such pertinent questions as “Why are footballers sensible, but cricketers ridiculous?”, “Did Beau Brummell matter all that much?”, “What is the importance of sexual attraction in the life of the draper?” and “What dreadful retribution lies in store for a man whose trousers are too tight?” Although it isn’t too surprising that an idea as sound as The Chap had entered the minds of men some three decades before its founding, it is nevertheless uncanny. This hardback first edition is in very good condition.
