£20.00

Not to be confused with his uncle, Pliny the Elder (composer of the famous ‘in vino veritas’ quote), Pliny the Younger was a Roman senator during the late half of the first century AD. He is remembered primarily as a letter writer, which now provide a genuine social history of the periods of reign of the emperors Domitian, Nerva and Trajan, including key events such as the eruption of Vesuvius.
