Volume III of the letters of Robert Louis Stevenson, published by William Heinemann as the Tusitala edition in 1924. While living on the island of Tahiti, Stevenson had been known by the natives as ‘Tusitala’. He left, to be opened after his death, express instructions to his close friend Sir Sidney Colvin, to publish a true and accurate account of his life, including a selection of his letters. This volume formed part of a huge collection published in the 1920s of Stevenson’s key works, letters, essays and stories. This leatherbound hardback is in very good condition.
