The Young Visiters

£12.00

First published in 1919, The Young Visiters (sic) was penned by Daisy Ashford when she was nine years old. The notebook didn’t see the light of day until many years later, among her mother’s papers. When it came to the attention of J.M. Barrie, he pushed it to publication and wrote the foreword, causing controversy at the time, as people believed it to be a spoof from his own hand. Nevertheless, others enjoyed the book for what it was, the genuine observations of society by a 9-year-old girl. This is the 27th impression published in 1960, and is in very good condition.
