Description
Pan paperback edition from 1966 of Ian Fleming’s final published novel, and the eleventh in the James Bond series. In 1959 Fleming had visited Japan as part of his research for his travel book Thrilling Cities, and found inspiration for You Only Live Twice there. The story opens with a washed-up 007 sent on a mission to Japan to assassinate Dr. Guntram Shatterhand. But when Bond discovers that this man is actually Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the mission becomes a revenge killing for the murder of his wife Tracy Bond by Blofeld, in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. This paperback edition was first published in 1965; this is the second impression in fair condition.
