Description
When Debretts, which had been publishing its annual Debretts Peerage since 1769, saw the success of The Chap Manifesto, they realised that giving sartorial and etiquette advice can have an amusing side to it. So in 2009 they came up with Debrett’s Guide for the Modern Gentleman, a comprehensive tome that combines genuine sartorial advice with rules on etiquette from the conventional – dinner parties, weddings etc – to the obscure, such as how to play chess against a lady, how to seduce someone, and chivalrous behaviour in the boudoir. The book, vast in its scope and elegant in its production, uses vintage-style graphics and typefaces to give it a Chap feel (at least so it seems to us). This copy is in perfect condition.
