Description
When the Daily Mail realised that its own archives of stories, features and photographs from the 1930s was actually of more interest than their current journalistic servings, they published this compendium of facsimiles from the women’s section of the newspaper. Everything from fashion advice to driving is covered, with a plethora of household tips in one chapter, including how to wash silk stockings and how to make your own putty. Advice on gift giving during the festive season includes suitable presents for mothers: a cocktail set in red and gold lacquered glass; for the aunt who “lives on her own”: an evening cape in lavender taffeta. This paperback copy is in very good condition.
