Welcome to the new web site for The Chap, Britain’s longest running gentlemen’s publication. Since launching the new site in January 2018, we have uploaded plenty of new material from our extensive archive – see ARCHIVE
Signing up for our newsletter is the best way for you to keep abreast, on a weekly basis, of what’s coming up in the publication, as well as keeping you abreast of Chap events and other relevant occurrences around the globe.
For the moment, we’d like to tell you about our new edition, which has Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret on the cover and features royalty, rakes, vintage archaeologists, mods, suedeheads and pocket knives, all under one immaculately attired roof. See MAGAZINE for full details of the latest edition.
The Chap has been Britain’s longest-serving gentlemen’s periodical for over 18 years, and now we are becoming more than a mere magazine. We have launched a new line of men’s clothing and accessories, designed to fulfill the expectations of our sartorially impeccable readers. These include tweed jackets, pocket squares, ties, cravats, cufflinks and lapel badges, and they are all available in our online shop.
The Chap is devoted to upholding the principles of a gentlemanly approach to life, via clothing, manners and being all-round splendid coves. However, we are not ignorant of contemporary modes of “putting oneself about”, and to this end we should very much like to inform you that we may be followed as TheChapMag on all the social media platforms known to Man, and you can be sure that, whenever those frightfully clever chaps in Silicon Valley invent a new one, we’ll give it a go.
Our principal mode of communication, however, is within the pages of our periodical, and to this end we are constantly on the lookout for news items that would pique our readers’ interest, as well as casting our eyes and ears across the globe, in search of characters, places and events that fulfill the ideals of our publication. We have sent journalists as far afield as Kurdish Iraq to meet a gentlemen’s sartorial gathering whose mission is to improve the image of their war-torn nation; and recently met an American Egyptologist who attends all her excavations dressed entirely in vintage clothing.
So please enjoy the broader scope of our new web site, where you will find countless articles from previous editions of our magazine, as well as photo shoots, fashion tips and the photographs of readers who have bravely submitted their photographs to ask: AM I CHAP?
