Description
While not writing heavyweight non-fiction about the Vietnam War and Pulitzer-prize-winning novels, publishing the Village Voice newspaper and campaigning to become mayor of New York City, titan of American letters Norman Mailer wrote this volume of verse. The poems are mostly rather short and very much of their time – ie not many of them rhyme – yet they capture the spirit of sixties America in the same way that the songs of Leonard Cohen do. This paperback first edition was published in 1962 and is in fair condition.
