Description
Geoffrey Wellum joined the RAF aged just 17 in March 1939. With the declaration of war in September, the fun of training and the camaraderie with other young trainees takes a darker turn, and young Geoffrey gets used to some of his fellow pilots not returning from missions. At 19, he was the youngest Spitfire pilot in the prestigious 92 Squadron, and when he survived the experience he sat down to pen his memoirs, with no ambition to have them published. The book went on to become a best seller in its day, and this is the Slightly Foxed clothbound edition published in 2025, in mint condition.
