Description
Meerschaum/amber pipe dating from the turn of century, its original leather box. The pipe has been generously smoked, yet still shows remarkable sturdiness for its age, with no damage to the thread linking the bowl to the amber stem. It takes years to achieve the warm yellowish patina that Meerschaum displays, and some kind Edwardian gent has done all the work for you here. The box, constructed by factory children as was typical of the age, is made from papier-mâché covered in leather. A delightful friend to accompany one during long winter nights by a crackling fire, alongside a glass of vintage port and a volume of salacious verse.
