Description
First published in 1973, when it caused a sensation, Portrait of a Marriage was penned by Nigel Nicolson, son of Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. When his mother died in 1962, Nigel went through her papers and found a locked Gladstone bag containing her account, in great detail, of her affair with Violet Keppel that had nearly cost her her marriage. Vita went on to have another lesbian affair, with Virginia Woolf, although miraculously her marriage survived. This is the brand-new Slightly Foxed hardback clothbound edition, published in 2025.
