The Origin of Species

£45.00

1945 reprint by London publisher Watts of Charles Darwin’s groundbreaking work that was originally published on 24th November 1859 in a run of 1,250 copies. It is difficult to imagine a more influential book on biology, one whose pioneering ideas, researched by Darwin on HMS Beagle around the entire world, are still relevant and referenced today, and which, in their time, led to the infamous Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925. This hardback edition formed part of the Thinker’s Library and is in fair condition, with a minor crack to the upper portion of the spine.
