Description
Victorian fly whisk from the Raj era in India, dating from 1870-1890. The pelt is unknown but is as soft as silvertip badger and much softer than sable – possibly lion’s mane? The handle and attached decorative accoutrements are in remarkably good condition for their age, as are the mauve and gold silk tassels. The handle measures 10 inches and the pelt 5.5 inches.
