Description
A foppish fifties tie clip with pale blue and black enamel inlay. We know it is from the 1950s because of the generous 7cm width; before that, ties were much narrower until the flamboyance of the jet age, when the swing tie came into its own. The gradual disappearance of the waistcoat from men’s fashion also allowed for much more self expression in the lower regions of one’s neckwear, and this tie clip would have held on to some jitterbugging Johnny’s tie as he bopped the night away.
