Description
Sometimes a tie flapping about in the wind is simply not acceptable, and this 1960s imitation mother-of-pearl tie bar is just the ticket to hold that wild blade in place. The tie bar slides in discreetly behind the tie, attaching it between the buttons of the shirt and, hey presto, no more neckwear flappage. Those of a dandiacal bent can also use a tie bar such as this to arch the upper part of the tie between the collar tips, the desired effect being that one can see daylight between tie and shirt from the side.
