Historic and Picturesque Inns of Old England

£10.00

When they weren’t manufacturing pneumatic tyres and tennis shoes, Dunlop turned out guide books for the motorist, presumably to encourage the use of their products. This one, published in 1927, is a guide to the prettiest pubs in Britain, some of which, pleasingly, still exist. Charles G. Harper, who also did the pen and ink drawings, rambles around the country, describing the wonderful inns he finds with a familiar, chatty style, providing endless fascinating facts about the history of each place he visits. This first edition is in good condition, with some minor loosening between the spine and cover boards.
