Requiem for a Wren

£15.00

Nevil Shute’s Second World War novel was published in 1955 to rave reviews, as it was seen to capture the preparations for Operation Overlord better than any other novel published until then. The fictional story is based around the romance between Leading Wren Janet Prentice and Bill Duncan, a frogman sergeant in the Royal Marines. But the main heroine of the tale is Janet herself, who qualifies as an Ordnance Wren, having proved herself a good shot with the Oerlikon. This is the 1956 Reprint Society edition in good condition.
