Silver Jubilee Tie

Could we have produced a novelty tie to mark The Chap’s 25th anniversary, with the words ‘SILVER JUBILEE’ and significant dates all over the place? Absolutely not. Instead, the brief set to designer Caroline Lindop was to create a tie that very subtly marked the quarter-century, yet purely via the use of clever design elements and without actually using any words or numbers. It is quite clear to all but the most literal-minded fellow that she achieved it, and then some. The tie measures 58 inches by 3 1/4 inches and is made of 100 per cent silk. There is a pocket square in the same design, but naturally one is forbidden to wear the two items at the same time.
