Description
Tootal’s colour grading system came into use around 1953, the grades of red, blue, green, black and grey replacing the earlier grades of popular, standard, sports and special. Although this Blue Quality tie is supposedly nearer the bottom of the list, its pattern ranks it on a much higher scale today. Interlocking grids in red and white on a dark blue background give the tie a Festival of Britain mid-fifties ambience, ideally worn with a black lounge suit and measuring 125x9cm.
