Like some of their ties and most of their cravats, Tootal found a way of synthesizing rayon so that it became as soft as silk but with a purely matt surface, with the added advantage over silk of providing warmth to the neck. This red paisley example could be regarded as a ‘classic’, with its bold burgundy and gold colouring. It can provide a sharp blast of colour if wearing a pale brown overcoat in winter, or a light tweed jacket in the Autumn. The scarf measures 130x27cm including the hand-tied tassels.
