Description
This pair of Victorian livery buttons, with a hare and wheatsheaf, were made into a pair of silver chain cufflinks circa 1920s, using a solid silver cuff fastening. Livery buttons were worn on the uniforms of the staff of Britain’s noble families, the imagery often taken from mediaeval knights’ helmets, and the master would sometimes have a pair of cufflinks fashioned from the buttons.
