Description
Robert Baldick could easily have written a fine article or twain for The Chap on the history of duelling, such is his grasp of both the violence of the duel itself, along with the reasons for duels being challenged in the first place and how that used to sit surprisingly comfortably within the gentlemanly code of honour. Instead, his book was a valuable reference work for the many articles published in The Chap about duelling, not to mention some superb illustrations and photographs. This large-format hardback is in very good condition.
