Description
Roderick Cameron’s account of the voyages of Captain Cook between 1768 and 1779 was published in 1965, based partly on voluminous original accounts from the 18th century and also on the author’s own travels around the same South Sea Islands. The result was a detailed journal of the South Pacific, as if composed by the men who had first made the voyage 200 years earlier. The book is fully illustrated with photographs that would immediately be banned were they published today, yet remain safely cocooned in the pages of a book published in a different time. This first edition is in very good condition.
