Description
John Buchan took a break from writing his pacy, gripping fiction books to pen this large collection of tales based on historical fact, all involving escapes and hurried journeys of one kind or another. They range from the escape of King Charles from Cromwell’s troops in 1651 to the perilous flight made in 1920 by two airmen from England to Australia after the Armistice, in a single-engined two-seater D.H.9 Bomber. This second edition was published in 1922 by Thomas Nelson and Sons, and is in very good condition for its age.
