Description
“Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea. And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.” This quote from Acts XXII. 27, 28 opens the mighty tale of Elsa and her cubs, raised in the wild by author Joy Adamson. The tale was made into a 1966 film of the same title starring Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers. But the original story, in the words of the woman who reared Elsa and walked with the lions, tells a much closer picture, and features plenty of black and white photographs of Elsa and the people who prepared her to go back into the wild. This is a first edition hardback in very good condition.
