CHAP Winter 2006 - The Chap

CHAP Winter 2006

£45.00

Number 32 of The Chap was dedicated to military matters, with a front cover featuring the first appearance of Tristan Langlois, who went on to write many features and host the Chap Olympiad. His first feature was in this issue, a concise history of British battledress. Also featured was Happy Gatwick’s assessment of the personal characteristics of each member of the ranks in the British Army. We staged a military photo shoot at the National Army Museum in Chelsea, and Arbuthnot & Slipper tried to make sense of Night-time upside down Ashes cricket. The dress codes of various dictators, including Kim Jong-Il were assessed, along with an encounter with Clive Dunn from Dad’s Army, and our comic strip by Borin Van Loon, the Adventures of Mordecai Villiers.
