Description
Adam Parfrey’s exhaustive look at men’s pulp magazines from the 1930s onwards was published by Los Angeles publisher Feral House in 2003. During the forties and fifties, America produced dozens and dozens of men’s adventure magazines, with tops ranging from the Second World War to alien abduction. The hand painted images portrayed male fantasies of that era, and frequently involved capture and torture by sexy women with an overt sado-masochistic flavour. Many (in fact most) of the images picture in this book would not survive under today’s scrutiny, but as a record of the era they are invaluable. This large-format 288-page hardback edition is in perfect condition except for a small dent on one of the cover boards.
