Description
A lighthearted novel first published in 1938 and republished countless times, Miss Pettigrew is a middle-aged governess sent by an employment agency to work for a nightclub singer instead of the usual household of unruly children. The book covers just 24 hours, during which all sort of embarrassing scrapes and adventures occur to the hapless Miss Pettigrew, including her introduction to cocaine, infidelity and the lifestyle of a West End showgirl. This is the paperback 2000 reprint from Methuen and is in very good condition.
