Description
The sixth novel in the Doctor series by Richard Gordon was made into a 1966 film with Leslie Phillips in the title role. Doctor Gaston Grimsdyke, newly sacked from his job as Prison Doctor for pursuing the Governor’s daughter, is given a job at the hospital by his former mentor sir Lancelot Spratt. Gaston, whose serious cousin Miles is already there, is more interested in the nurses than the patients, though he falls in love with beautiful young physiotherapist Janine Balmond, who is going out with naive medical student Lambert Symington and rejects Gaston for being too old. Gaston tries to make himself seem younger while fruitlessly pursuing the cool, calm, collected Janine. This hardback is a first edition in excellent condition.
